Thank you to the city of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, conducter Gavin Sutherland and one of my favourite singers, Clare Teal, for such a wonderful night in Birmingham.

I've just about recovered from last week's gig at Bestival. What a blast! If you don't know Bestival attracts about 50,000 mainly young people for music and frolics once a year on the Isle of Wight.

Thanks to everyone who braved the rain for Happy Birthday Mr Sinatra at Canary Wharf. What a great night we had! I thought everyone would go home once the rain came but they just stayed and partied.

Some 4,400 people came to the castle lawn over the weekend to enjoy what organisers say was the best ever line-up.
