A big band for the legends of fashion
We were delighted to play for Joan Berstein's 90th birthday party at Claridges the other night. Many of her famous fashion pals where there including Donatello Versace, Anna Wintour, Paul Smith, Nicole Farhi, Naomi Campbell, Stella McCartney and John Galliano.
Mrs B as she's affectionately known, is the fairy godmother of fashion designers. Her famed store on South Molton Street, which opened in 1970, has been the foster home of many young designers from John Galliano to collections from Missoni, Sonia Rykiel and Ossie Clark. She is also credited with bringing such talents as Giorgio Armani, Comme des Garcons, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Krizia, Ralph Lauren, Alexander McQueen and Jil Sander to London.
