Kay Richardson explains how singers should deal with sound technicians - Part 2

In part 2 of my interview with sound engineer Kay Richardson, we cover microphone technique and  the kind of language to use when we're communicating with the sound engineer. It can be daunting for anyone from a non-technical background to try and communicate with the sound engineer so I was keen for this Podcast to include clear advice on how to tell the engineer what you need. We discuss the pros and cons of the act walking through the house during the rehearsal and offering suggestions and comments to the engineer. We cover a bit of technical stuff on the use of a compressor on the vocal, rehearsal technique and whether it's worth using your own microphone on gigs.
