How to talk to an audience with confidence by Kai Hoffman

Called “The Queen of Swing!” by Ian Shaw, singer Kai Hoffman has hosted the Live And Let Jive club night at Ronnie Scott’s since 2008. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Kai has studied and performed all over the world. When she's not singing she spends her time teaching stagecraft and helping other performers reach their potential.

In my experience, most singers find chatting to the audience in a relaxed way their biggest challenge. In this short interview Kai shares her tips and advice on creating a script and gaining the confidence you need to take your show from a 'set' to what she calls, “an evening's entertainment”.

Chatting to your audience is “just another mystery that needs to be solved,” and Kai thinks anyone can do it, all it takes is practise and application.
