Forget finding your passion, just be curious.

Growing up, one of my favourite books was 'Tell Me Why?', a kind of encyclopedia packed with the answers to 100s of questions for inquisitive kids. Children are curious by nature. They're interested in the world and everything in it, hence the endless “Why…” questions which drive every parent mad. But curiosity is a magical quality to be encouraged and nurtured.

Elizabeth Gilbert, the author of 'Eat, Pray, Love' said that instead of telling people to follow their passion, we should encourage them to follow their curiosity. Since most of us have no idea what we're really passionate about, being curious and seeing where it leads, is less daunting and far more doable. Along the way, we might find our passion, but it's curiosity that will take us there.

Since 2015 I've been chatting to interesting people and recording the interviews for my 'In Conversation' podcast. I've had some fascinating conversations with TV personalities, Michelin starred chefs, world-class musicians and Secret Service Agents. Why not let your curiosity get the better of you, and click here to give them a listen?

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but imagine what an interesting life it had up until then.
